What is an audio equalizer?
An equalizer is essentially a multimode filter capable of attenuating or raising different parts of a signal's frequency spectrum. In other words lowering or boosting certain frequencies.
How to use Equalizer
Applying the effect [Beginner]
Adding effects to your sound in Soundation is easy as pie, just follow these steps.
- 1Open Soundation Education and create a project
- 2Double-click the channel to which you want to apply the Equalizer, this will open up the bottom panel
- 3Press "+ Add effect" and select Equalizer in the drop-down menu
- 4Adjust the parameters explaned in the Parameters section below
Parameters
This equalizer is very simple yet brutally effective with three different settings, sometimes it’s all you need. When you need to get more surgical with boosting or cutting, try using our Parametric EQ instead.
Low
Low governs amplitude between 20Hz to 880Hz of the frequency spectrum.
Mid
Mid governs amplitude between 880Hz to 5 000Hz of the frequency spectrum.
High
High governs amplitude between 5 000Hz to 20 000Hz of the frequency spectrum.
